The Kick, Lead and Dream (KLD) Initiative was founded in 2007 to create an environment where motivated high school and middle school students come together with at-risk kids to provide them with role models and opportunities to learn soccer skills, leadership skills and the ability to dream BIG!
Campers from middle schools and elementary schools are coached and led by student coaches from local high schools. Camp highlights include soccer tournaments, club recruiting day, water balloon competition, and inspirational talks. Past speakers have included players from the San Francisco Forty Niners, Cincinnati Bengals, San Jose Earthquakes and FC Gold Pride, Police Chiefs and officers from Mountain View and Sunnyvale, Mountain View Mayor, and a Superbowl ring bearing High School Principal.
Campers and coaches are provided with plenty of refreshments along with T-shirts, bagpacks and a lot more. Transportation is also provided from select pickup points in Mountain View and Sunnyvale.
